Williams a soft verbal for Pack

There have been plenty of rumors regarding the status of New Bern, N.C. offensive guard Julian Williams in recent days. What's he saying?

"I committed to NC State, but I'm still looking at other schools. I'm a soft verbal right now. I'm still looking at ECU, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame. ECU and Virginia Tech have offered and I've visited both schools. I've had an in-home visit with Notre Dame and I was supposed to take an official visit there. I'm not sure if I'm going to do that now. They'll probably offer me here shortly, or at least I hope so. I just want to see all the options I have out there."

What did Williams enjoy about his recent visit to NC State?

"I was impressed with the facilities, and I got to talk to a lot of people. I like the coaches and the players were cool to hang out with. It's an in-state schools, which is another plus. I really like the school, but I don't think I'm going to announce that I'm 100-percent in any direction until Signing Day."

Williams is a three-star prospect and is rated the No. 16 overall high school player in North Carolina. He's also rated the No. 27 offensive guard in America.
