Will three-star commit on visit

Three-star tight end/defensive end Mike Smith (6-6, 245, 4.75) from Las Vegas (Nev.) Palo Verde will be taking his first official visit this Friday (October 28th) to Lincoln to visit the Cornhuskers of Nebraska.
Smith also has committed visits to Oregon State and UNLV. The talented two-way player is being recruited for his skills as both a tight end and defensive end.

Oregon, Cal, UCLA, and Michigan State are other schools that Smith is getting calls from who he is interested in.
Smith has six sacks on the season and that's a pretty good number when you consider that teams are scheming to stop his defensive presence.
"Last game the opposition rarely ran to my side of the field," Smith said. "When they did, they didn't get much."
There could be a commitment in the very near future for Smith.
"I might make up mind this weekend and commit while I'm on my trip," Smith said. "I have a few questions and they are answered the way I'm hoping then I will commit to Nebraska."
"I'm going to ask what they have planned for me," Smith said. "Do they have plans for me or will I be on the scout the team for a few years before I get a legitimate shot at playing time."
"I know will get a shot at UNLV," Smith said. "I just want an opportunity to prove what I can do and play."
Smith received all-district and all-state honors as after recording 17 sacks.
Smith is rated by Rivals.com as the nation's No. 22 weakside defensive end prospect for the class of 2006 and he was named to the Rivals.com preseason Nevada Top 10 landing as the Silver State's No. 4 prospect at any position.
