Will Purdue offer WR Waugh

For months Louisville and Rutgers were thought to be the schools most involved with Atco (N.J.) Winslow Township wide receiver DeVante Waugh.
While the 6-foot, 165-pound prospect has been claiming offers from the Cardinals and the Scarlet Knights for a long time now those schools. They remain interested, but two other schools have been showing the most interest lately.

"I've been talking to Purdue and Akron lately," Waugh told Rivals.com over the weekend.
"Purdue said they're going to call Wednesday and let me know (about an offer)."
Waugh won't have to wait long to find out just where the Boilermakers stand.
It has been tough for Waugh to tackle the recruiting process this year because Winslow Township didn't have any bye weeks during their season. Now that things are winding down he should be able to turn his focus to recruiting and take some visits, though he doesn't have any planned yet.
Purdue has just seven commitments in this recruiting class so far and that might explain their desire to cast a wider net. Just one of their commitments is from a wide receiver.
Waugh is ranked the No. 24 prospect in New Jersey among Class of 2011 prospects.
