Will Pack offer Georgia signal caller

One of the top quarterback prospects from the Peach State is Hutson Mason from Marietta (Ga.) Lassiter High School. Mason, 6-2 and 190 pounds, is a three-star signal caller waiting to see what happens with N.C. State
"I am calling coach (Dana) Bible now," Mason said. "I need to know where I stand with them. I camped there and they said I was their No. 1 guy (at quarterback). But they still haven't offered me or any other quarterback so far. They are taking one in this class. So I am trying to figure out where I stand with them."

Going into the month of July, Iowa stood out as his leader. Are the Hawkeyes still his leader?
"Well, yeah. But that depends on what happens with N.C. State. If they do (offer) they are equal. The distance thing with Iowa is the only negative. I want my parents to see my play every week. Other than that I love Iowa. They should be a top 25 team this season. I have been up there and I love Iowa City.
"If N.C. State doesn't offer, then Iowa is the team to beat. If they offer they are equal.
"Then I would say it's Indiana. It's down to those three teams."
So what will Mason do if they 'Pack do offer soon? Will he make his decision or make two more visits?
"That's hard to say. I will see how I feel if they do offer. I could end up visiting both schools (officially) during the beginning of the season. I would rather commit sooner rather than later."
Lassiter hosts a 16 team, 7-on-7 starting tomorrow with teams from Henry County (Ga.), Southlake (Fla.) and Punta Gorda (Fla.) Charlotte. The winner of that event gets an invitation to the Hoover 7-on-7 next week.
