Will Kopa take some visits

Elk Grove (Calif.) defensive lineman Matt Kopa has been very consistent since Stanford coach Buddy Teevens was fired in saying he was still 100% locked in for the Cardinal. Then just last week, Kopa sent in his CaliFlorida Bowl questionnaire confirming for the game but also said he now planned to take some visits.
Kopa, 6-6, 270 pounds is a talented player who could play on either side of the ball in college. He had a great showing at the NorCal Nike Camp and was probably one of the top five performers that day. So who may get a visit from the talented lineman?

“I’m probably going to visit Cal and Nebraska,” Kopa said. “I haven’t set the dates yet but I talked to my dad and he thinks it would be a good idea to take a few visits, just to make sure of my decision. I just found out earlier today that Walt Harris was hired as the new head coach and to be honest I really don’t know that much about him.
“I know he comes from Pittsburgh and had a pretty good program there but that’s about it. I was going hoping they would go with Norm Chow because I think that would have created more of a buzz out here and would have also weakened USC so it would be good on two accounts. No one from the school has contacted me yet regarding the announcement, I found out like everyone else, just watching ESPN and seeing it come across there.
“I’m looking forward to meeting Coach Harris and seeing what he’s about. I have my trip to Stanford set for (Jan. 7) and I heard that will be a big weekend for them. It could be after that visit, I won’t need to take any other trips but it would be cool to just see what else is out there so I have something to compare it to.”
