Will he follow the family to south Beach

Anthony Chickillo will be one of the most sought after defensive line prospects from the state of Florida in the Class of 2011. Chickillo, now 6-4 and 235 pounds, had 80 tackles and 12.5 sacks last season. That's a great season considering he missed half year with a broken collar bone. He had 80 tackles and 12.5 sacks.
"I got injured the first game at the end of the third quarter," Chickillo said. "I ended up playing in six games. The thing is I had four sacks in that first game and I actually had seven in our kickoff classic. I came back and finished with a good season."

Did the college football coaches notice his junior year? I would say so after the list of scholarship offers that Chickillo has thus far.
"Miami, Florida, FSU, USC, Ohio State, and Notre Dame have all offered. I think it's 29 or 30 scholarship offers now. It's crazy man. To be honest I would be happy with one offer. Now it's all of these schools. You don't expect it. I just don't know how to explain it."
Chickillo's father, Tony, played for Miami (1979-'82) and his grandfather, Nick, also played for the Hurricanes (1950-'52). As you can imagine, Miami football is in his blood.
"There is a lot of tradition of Miami in the family. They have offered and my family loves coach (Randy) Shannon. They are getting better. Miami wasn't supposed to be that good this past season and they were. They will be better this season."
So are the 'Canes the heavy favorite?
"I am open right now. My dad said there is no pressure on me to pick Miami. He will support whatever school I pick. Miami is one of my favorites. Right now I am still waiting to see who offers."
What is Chickillo looking for in his future school?
Dad went through this and he believes that you have to have great relationship you're your position coach and strength and conditioning coach because those are those coaches are spend the most time with. I want to get to know them real well. I will know everything about them. I want to get to NFL so I want to find a school that will help get me to the next level. Academics are very important. My mom is a teacher so I will pick a school with great academics."
So far Chickillo has been to Florida, Florida State, Miami and USF. He has plans to see others this spring and summer.
"I went to junior days at FSU and Florida and I have been to USF. FSU is coming up and rising. Coach (Jimbo) Fisher will bring them back. I have a real good relationship with Florida too. You can just tell about these schools. Florida is successful and FSU will be successful. I like USF too. They are going to be good. I sat down with coach (Skip) Holtz. I liked him a lot. He will bring that program to next level.
"I am going to as many schools as I can. I will go to a Miami spring practice as well as FSU, Florida and USF. I want to see Ohio State and Notre Dame and go see USC this summer. I want to check out everyone."
