The Latest: When East Carolina landed a commitment from electric athlete D.J. Chisolm over the summer, the Pirates hoped they had found a future X-factor for their offense. Since making that pledge, a lot has changed, both for ECU and for Chisolm. After the school fired head coach Scottie Montgomery, Chisolm backed off his commitment and has elected to not sign early. Once his name went back on the market, several other programs jumped into the mix in an effort to get him on campus. So what's next for Chisolm? Rivals.com caught up with him at the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas to get the latest on his visit plans for January.

In His Words: "I de-committed because Coach Montgomery got fired. I've spoken with the new coach and I'm supposed to go in January for an official visit. I'm going to wait and sign in February."

Conversations with new ECU Coach Mike Houston: "He wants to get me up there to meet some of the new coaching staff. It's going to be a whole different change from when Coach Montgomery was there. But I still like ECU. I'm going up there with an open mind to hear what they have to say and I'm going to keep my options open."

Other visits: "I'm going to visit Georgia Southern and Troy, too. Coastal Carolina is also trying to get me to visit."

Schedule: "I'm going to try to go to ECU first, then Georgia Southern and Troy last. I'm going to announce my commitment on Signing Day."
