Wilkins impressed with trip

Manny Wilkins went to the San Jose State game last weekend but not to see the home team.
The 2014 quarterback from San Marin (Calif.) Novato was there to get a closer look at Utah State since it's recruiting Wilkins and he has a lot of interest in the program.

"They're not really allowed to talk to me because of the NCAA rules and it's not a home game but I still went there to support and check out the Aggies," Wilkins said.
"It's really important to see. It's a school if I get an offer from them I'd really consider going there. It's a program on the rise and they have a great offensive coordinator and the head coach has had some influential words. It's a great school."
Utah State is one of the many schools showing early interest in Wilkins, who shined at the Oakland Elite 11 this past spring and has really emerged as one of the top quarterbacks in California for the 2014 class.
Wilkins is planning at least one more trip this season as well.
The San Marin Novato standout is looking to visit Oregon for its showdown with Stanford in mid-November. The Ducks definitely interest Wilkins but no offer has come yet.
Washington has been talking to the 2014 quarterback much more often than earlier this season and Washington State has recently reached out as well.
Wilkins has also been to Cal. He is a friend of quarterback commit Jared Goff and there is mutual interest in the Golden Bears.
Since it's still so early in his recruitment and no offers have come in yet, Wilkins said there are no frontrunners.
