Wilkes ready for visits

Jeremi Wilkes is a three-star cornerback prospect from Tampa Catholic. Wilkes is gearing up for a monster game against their biggest rival. They travel to Tampa Jesuit on Friday night.
"We are 0-3 against Jesuit since I have been here," Wilkes said. "Beating them is a definite goal of ours. We have that game circled. It's always at the end of the season and the last game. They have a good quarterback in (Bobby) Eveld. He played good against us last year. We have to get pressure on him because he's a good passer. As a defensive back I have to be sound."

Wilkes is one of the top defensive backs in the Tampa Bay area. Wilkes, 5-9 and 170 pounds, has made some big improvement over his play last season.
"I have improved my strength and speed. I am playing with better technique. I worked hard in the off-season in the weight room and with our DB coach."
According to Wilkes he has scholarship offers from Syracuse, Rutgers, Louisville, Troy, Iowa, FSU, Western Kentucky and Georgia Southern.
"I have a visit set up next week for Syracuse (11-20). I will visit Rutgers (12-4) in December. I am setting up a visit for Louisville and I know I will visit Troy and Iowa.
"I am pretty open among all these schools. I will wait until I take visits and then make a decision. I want to pick a school where I can see myself fitting into their scheme, campus, and environment."
Tampa Catholic is 8-0 on the season.
