Wilkes has a great weekend

Jeremi Wilkes is a three-star cornerback prospect from Tampa Catholic High School that took his first official visit this past weekend. Wilkes, 5-9 and 180 pounds, made the trip north to Syracuse.
"I left early Saturday morning and I really didn't know what to expect because I have never been up there," Wilkes said. "They wowed me. The campus, festivities, and the (Carrier) Dome were all great. I think very highly of the staff and they look like they are going in the right direction. Syracuse is recruiting well and they are going to turn that thing around."

Wilkes is scheduled to visit Rutgers (12-4) next month. He may visit two more schools in the month of January.
"Man, Syracuse was a great trip and they set the bar high. I most likely visit Troy and Iowa in January. I just have not set those yet."
Catholic just started the playoffs last weekend, where they won their first round playoff game against Dunbar. This Friday they face Lake Highland Prep.
"I did well and the defense played a good game. We played sound and that's what we stress. We beat them (Lake Highland Prep) during the season. It was early and I know it's hard to beat someone twice but we just have to play our game. We control our own destiny."
