Wildcats on a roll

The Arizona Wildcats had quite a weekend over the Thanksgiving Holiday. To the man, every one of the recruits who were there, loved their visit to the Tucson campus. One of them was Mike Johnson (6-3, 195, 4.4) from Tyler (Texas) Junior College who has decided to throw his hat into the ring with the red-hot, on the recruiting trail, Arizona Wildcats.
“I loved the coaches and the facilities are nice,” Johnson said. “I chose Arizona because I want to be coached by Mike and Mark Stoops.”

“They have coached a lot of great players over the years,” Johnson said. “I believe they will bring out all my potential.”
Arizona wins the services over offers from Texas A&M, Kansas and TCU. The Nebraska Cornhuskers were also recruiting Johnson hard.
The Wildcats get a versatile defensive back who has played all four of the defensive back positions.
Most likely, Johnson will play strong or free safety for the Wildcats.
When Johnson played corner the opposition avoided him like a bad cold. As a safety they used a lot as a hybrid linebacker. Because of his hitting and sure tackling ability, Johnson was in the box a lot in 2004. He did pick off a pass.
Johnson is a two-time all-conference selection and was recently named the Southwest Conference Defensive MVP.
Johnson will be a December graduate and will participate in spring ball for the Wildcats. He will have two years to play two.
