Wildcats land Texas DE

Irving (Texas) MacArthur defensive end Eric Childs was busy traveling this weekend, but when the trip was over, the state of Texas' No. 95 rated prospect knew where he wanted to go.
"I went to Kansas State on Friday and then to Texas Tech on Saturday," the 6-foot-3, 195-pound Childs said. "Everything on my visit to both places went great. I couldn’t have laid out the visits any better. I learned a lot from both coaching staffs and the people on the campuses when I was there."

Upon returning home from both visits, Childs sat down to make a decision.
“After I got home from both places, I sat down with my parents on Sunday and talked it over. I decided K-State was the place I needed to be for college. I called my high school coach and let him know my decision and he was excited for me. Then I called (K-State defensive coordinator) Coach (Bob) Elliott to tell him."
As a junior, Childs recorded 46 tackles, five quarterback sacks and one interception.
