Wildcats land stellar corner

The Arizona Wildcats landed an outstanding player who really impressed onlookers at the NIKE Camp held in Palo Alto. This is not hard feat since the numbers were so great at that particular NIKE Camp.
The player in question is cornerback Mike Turner (6-0, 172, 4.47) from Manteca, Calif.

"I'm excited about being a Wildcat," Turner said. "I wanted to go away for school and Arizona was one of the schools I wanted to get an offer from."
"Coach (Tim) Kish (Arizona's recruiter) is more like a friend to me," Turner said. "We became very close."
"When I would come from school or from a workout there was always something from Coach Kish," Turner said. "It kept building and building and it became a skyscraper."
The Wildcats land a player who earned all-city, all-area, and all-league honors as a junior.
Turner picked off seven passes, three of which he took to the house. He was also second on the team in tackles with over 100. Not a small feat for a corner.
Turner is also an outstanding punt returner who returned three punts for scores.
That's not all. Turner returned also played wide receiver and scored six receiving touchdowns.
Turner chose the Wildcats over other offers from archrival Arizona State, Washington, Washington State, Nevada and Fresno State.
"Arizona was more concerned about me than other schools," Turner said. "When I would call them they would always engage me in conversation."
"The Wildcats would ask if I was doing going and staying out of trouble," Turner said. "They would tell me to work hard this summer and I would be more successful this fall."
The Wildcats recruited Turner as a cornerback. Great get for Mike Stoops and company.
