Wildcats land Patterson

Look for Arizona’s tradition of great defensive back play to continue with the verbal commitment of three star JUCO cornerback Ryan Patterson (6-1, 200, 4.47) from Pima City College in Tucson, Ariz.
Patterson is an impact player who should come in and help the Wildcats the minute he steps on campus. He has an excellent knack for the football. Patterson picked off five passes as a junior. He returned one of his picks for a touchdown and he also returned a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

What makes Patterson’s statistics even more impressive is opposing coaches quit throwing in Patterson’s direction around the fourth game of the season.
“I committed to Arizona,” Patterson said. “I chose Arizona because I want to play against the best and the Pac10 has the best wide receivers.”
Patterson may visit Michigan because his father played for the Wolverines. “I might visit Michigan,” Patterson said. “But I don’t that visiting Michigan will change my mind.”
More Wildcat news: Arizona commitment tight end Ryan Gurley (6-5, 256, 4.7) from Independence (Kan.) Independence Community College was scheduled to enter school this winter and be able to play spring ball. It has been discovered that he is one class short to be eligible for Arizona. He is currently enrolled at Pima to make up the class.
