Wildcats land Lone Star State DB

Arizona Wildcat fans have a lot be excited about. Mike Stoops and company have the football program rolling and they’re red-hot on the recruiting front and they have yet to play a game. If Arizona plays as well they recruit, the Wildcats will only get better.
The latest to join the fold is Corey Hall (5-10, 178, 4.56) from DeSoto, Texas.
Hall and DeSoto teammate wide receiver Mike Thomas (6-0, 170, 4.4) took an unofficial visit to the Tucson campus this past weekend. While Thomas was sold and committed on the spot, Hall wanted to talk to his parents and his coach.
“I didn’t need to talk to my parents or my coach,” Hall said. “But I thought it was the right thing to do.”
“My parents and my coach both agree,” Hall said. “They feel Arizona is the right place for me.”
The Wildcats get a very physical player who played corner on the high school level but the Cats are looking at him to play safety.
Hall has a current bench press of 255 pounds, he squats 350 and recorded a 28-inch vertical jump. He also benched 185, 11 times and ran the shuttle in a very brisk 4.25. Hall is also an outstanding student with a 4.5 GPA.
As a junior, Hall recorded 84 tackles, nine passes broken up, five forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. His performance was good enough for him to be selected all-district for one of the Lone Star State’s best teams.
The Wildcats land Hall over other offers from Boston College, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Maryland, Washington State, Wisconsin, Louisiana-Monroe, Duke and Tulsa.
