Wildcats bounce back with pledge

The Arizona Wildcats may not be getting the job done on the field this season, but they scored quite nicely off of it with the pledge of Solomon Smart (6-0, 185, 4.45) from Phoenix (Ariz.) Moon Valley.
The Wildcats get a player with tremendous upsides. Smart is currently rated has the Grand Canyon’s State’s number 14 prospect at any position.

Smart has seen his stock rise steadily since last spring with his impressive showings. He impressed many with his explosion after recording a 38-inch vertical jump.
Smart is having a great senior campaign and has seven interceptions this season. He has also racked up over 800 yards rushing at tailback.
In this morning’s Tucson Citizen Smart’s Moon Valley head coach Roger Britson said, "He is a big, strong, physical kid who is a pressing corner. He is very good at one-on-one coverage. There is a real upside about him. He is just now starting to reach his full potential."
“Speed is a bonus, but Smart's strength gives him the edge over most receivers,” Britson said. "He just pushes receivers out of bounds. He is very strong. Smart power-cleans 325. That's probably as strong as many of the defensive backs at the U of A."
Just when Arizona fans needed a boost in morale, they get it with Smart’s pledge.
Wildcats are looking smart with Smart.
