Wiggins has an early leader

Plant City (Fla.) athlete LaMarlin Wiggins has an extensive list of schools showing him heavy interest. That list includes the likes of LSU, Florida, USF, Vanderbilt, Miami, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech, and UCLA. A few of those schools have extended offers, including the top two on his list at this time.
"Well, I am not really trying to leave out-of-state, so I am really thinking about USF a lot," Wiggins said. "USF is my leader. Texas Tech is up there too."

Wiggins visited the nearby Bulls back in February and is scheduled to return this coming weekend to watch them practice. He talked about his previous trip to the Tampa campus.
"It is a great program," Wiggins said. "The most important thing to them is that your grades are up and you earn your degree. They want to make sure you are doing the right thing."
He is also regularly speaking to one of Skip Holtz' assistant coaches.
"I have been talking to Coach Shank (Steve Shankweiler)," Wiggins said. "He talks to me about staying home to play in college. He says I can have a great impact on their team and the school. He said I have a great chance to start."
Wiggins said the Bulls, as well as everybody else showing him interest, want him at wide receiver. That includes Texas Tech, who is also amongst his top schools.
"I like the offense and that they throw the ball a lot," Wiggins said of the Red Raiders. "I am talking a lot with my cousin, Chad Scott. I know that if I have to, I may need to leave the state. They have just told me it is a great program over there and that they are building up. I also see that they win a lot of games."
As a junior, Wiggins had 40 receptions for around 650 yards and six touchdowns.
