Corsicana, Texas, offensive tackle Louis Vasquez was leaning toward Oklahoma State and Texas Tech. He’s no longer leaning. That’s because he’s made a commitment. Which Big 12 school was lucky to land the commitment from the Texas top 100 prospect?
“I’m a Red Raider,” Vasquez, who is 6-foot-5 and 310 pounds, said. “I liked what they had to tell me. They have a position ready to go for me on the depth chart, and I also liked how the offensive line worked together. They were close with each other. They were all like brothers.”
Vasquez had offers from Tech, Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas State, Nebraska, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State before picking the Red Raiders today.
So what type of player is Tech getting?
"A bunch of coaches said they like my feet and how I dominate,” he said. “The coaches say that I’m better at pass blocking, but I like to pull and down block on guys."
Vasquez said he is finished with the recruiting process and will not consider any other schools.
