Whoever gets Lucky will be lucky

Five-star running back Marlon Lucky (5-11 ½, 202, 4.44) from North Hollywood, Calif., is the complete back. As a runner, he has smooth moves and is football fast. He is also a dynamic pass catcher out of the backfield and that skill has also made him an attractive recruit.
So far Lucky has offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Washington, USC, LSU, Mississippi State, Nebraska, and San Diego State. He claims that he has no favorites at the moment and that he will start to think about his visits during the season.
Lucky will be attending USC’s Summer Football Camp this coming Monday (June 28th) and just returned from the San Diego State passing camp where he was his usual fantastic self.
“I think I did alright,” Lucky said. “I scored 10 touchdowns.”
Lucky is a very nice and humble young man.
What is Lucky looking for in a college?
“Area will be important,” Lucky said. “Fan support, good weather and stability in the football program will all be considerations.”
In an earlier interview with, North Hollywood head coach Brad Ratcliff had this to say about his star player.
“There are some running backs that may have a faster 40 time,” Ratcliff said. “But Marlon plays at the same speed as he is timed in. It makes no difference if he’s in shorts or pads.”
“Marlon is a winner,” Ratcliff said. “Whenever the game is on the line, he’s money.”
“Marlon is a capable blocker,” Ratcliff said. “He is working hard on getting better.”
The scouting report on Lucky is he’s a great combo in the style of former USC and Kansas City Chief great Marcus Allen.
“I think Marlon is more like Marcus because he is a great pass receiver as well as a fine running back,” Ratcliff said.
As a junior, Lucky was selected all-league and all-city after he rushed for 1,778 yards and scored 28 rushing touchdowns. As a receiver, Lucky caught 14 passes for 219 yards, averaging 15.6 yards per catch and two touchdowns. He also returned one kickoff for a touchdown.
Lucky is originally from Dallas, Texas.
