Whitney takes visits, looks for more offers

Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph's Prep quarterback Chris Whitney has had a busy summer attending a handful of camps. Who did the 6-foot-2, 207-pounder stop at and is he on the verge of any more offers?
"I went to Temple, Connecticut and Syracuse for camp in late June," he said. "They all went really well and I can say I was very surprised by Temple. They had excellent facilities there. I like Connecticut a lot because it's a small campus and they are building a nice indoor field. As for Syracuse, their weight room and practice facilities were awesome."

Neither Syracuse nor Connecticut offered while Whitney visited.
"Connecticut didn't mention anything about an offer," he said. "Syracuse on the other hand did say they really like me and my athletic ability. They are looking at me to play quarterback or perhaps tight end and would get back to me by early August."
At this time, the three-star prospect still holds offers from Temple and Rutgers although Whitney claims plenty of other schools are considering offering.
"There are a lot of programs that want to see my first few games," he said. "I know Iowa, Tulane, Kansas State and Vanderbilt are still interested and want more film."
Though he's getting a variety of interest, the No. 36 player in the Keystone State still has no favorites.
"I'm pretty wide open right now," he said. "I'm looking for an education first. Then I want a nice campus, excellent facilities and good people to be around."
Whitney recorded nearly 2,000 yards of offense and 25 touchdowns last season on his way to league MVP honors.
