When Pac10Recruiting was able catch up with Whitney Lewis (6-1, 215, 4.33) from Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure on Sunday he had already had seven phone calls. We can only imagine how many calls he has received today.
The seven teams that came out of the box with the first calls were USC, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Texas, Miami and Georgia.

Lewis is keeping his options open at this early stage. “I’m keeping everything equal,” Lewis said. “The season is just starting.”
Lewis is considered one of the nation’s top athlete prospects and will play both running back and wide receiver for St. Bonaventure.
“I will play running back and wide receiver this season,” Lewis said. “I’ve been working hard at both positions.”
St. Bonaventure will be getting Lewis the ball in many creative ways this season.
St. Bonnie is moving up to Division IV in the southern section CIF. “We are looking good,” Lewis said. “At first we were aching and now everything is real good. We have no injuries to speak of.”
Lewis and the St. Bonaventure Seraphs will open at home September 7th against Dos Palos.
What is Lewis looking for in a school?
“A tradition of solid academics and a program that graduates their players,” Lewis said. “An opportunity for early playing time is another consideration.”
Lewis will be one of the of the many star high school players in audience at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum when USC hosts Auburn this evening…
