White nearing top 10

Springhill (La.) North Webster Rivals100 athlete Devin White is closing in on a top 10. He is not quite there, but he does plan to announce a top 10 at the Opening in Oregon.
The full list may not be ready, but he does know three schools who will make the cut.

"Right now LSU, Alabama, and Ole Miss," White said. "I haven't really finished the list, but those are three schools right now I know will be on the list."
The three may be on his list, but White is quick to say they are not his top three.
"No they're just three schools who have already stood out a little more than the other ones," White said.
While they may not be his top three, it is no surprise the three schools are high on his list. Ole Miss has good friend Shea Patterson already committed. Alabama was one of the first schools to offer. LSU is the home state program. All three have made a strong case for White, and he has been paying close attention.
Alabama: "I mean they're recruiting me really hard. They have a definite need for running backs because they just lost another running back on scholarship so they're done to four. And one of them is leaving and Derrick Henry is so go he could probably be the first running back taken next year so he's a possibility to leave. That leaves two other running backs - Bo Scarborough who is on an ACL injury right now and Damien Harris. So the opportunity to come in and contribute to Alabama is up there."
Ole Miss: "Just the way coach Freeze recruits, it's family based. I look at Shea as my family, so me and him going up there we've never played together on the high school level so we could go there and do it there. We just play 7-on-7 together and we always connect well. Him being heavily involved that would be a great opportunity for me and him because we can make each other better because we're two great athletes playing alongside each other. Basically I like the offense they run. I could give them more threat because I can run it up the middle and the outside and he can throw the long ball down the field. I like the way they recruit me and Shea being committed there and the way he recruits me because he's non-stop. If I could say Shea was the recruiter they would be the school recruiting me."
LSU: "LSU they run the ball, they're here in Louisiana, I believe in my mind coach Frank (Wilson) is the best running back coach in America. That's just my opinion after looking at his history of backs he's put in the NFL and what they did in college. They have depth at running back and it will just be me being another great running back on the depth chart. They're going to be good. They're always loaded. It's LSU."
He has visited LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Florida State this summer, and he says Alabama is recruiting him the hardest.
White does not have any other summer visit plans right now, and he does not know who else will make his top 10 list. He is currently enjoying the process, and experiencing as much as possible.
"It's not that hard," White said. "It's been fun because you get to talk to so many different coaches and just talk to different people with different personalities from around the world. It's just been a blessing. It's been fun but you can't visit all the schools. I know some people that say they're never going to name a top list they're just going to talk to all the coaches until they're ready to make their decision. But I want to focus 10 and then five and then get it out of the way and go to college."
He may not know what college he will play for but he does know what position he will play. There has been a lot of disccussion about him playing linebacker and running back, but White knows he wants to spend his time on offense.
"I mean at first it was this or that but now it's just going to be straight running back," White said. "If a school is recruiting me at linebacker they really don't have a chance anymore because my mindset is not focused on that anymore."
White does not have any official visits scheduled, and at this point he plans to make his final college decision on Signing Day.
