Whitaker nearing a decision

Dual-threat quarterback Ike Whitaker is still looking at five schools, but there's a sense that he's not far from making a decision.
"I'm still looking at Maryland, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Florida and Clemson," said Whitaker. "It's basically just those five. I'm not sure when I'll announce anything, but I would like to make my decision as soon as possible."

Does that mean he won't be taking any official visits?
"I really don't know about that situation right now. If I do take visits it will probably be to my favorites, but I haven't started setting anything up yet. So we'll see how that goes in the next couple of weeks."
Whitaker has led Germantown (Md.) Northwest to a fantastic 7-0 start.
"In the last game I broke our record for touchdown passes in a season with 28," he said. "I had the record last year, but this year I've just been more accurate and making better decisions."
Whitaker is rated the No. 3 dual-threat quarterback in the nation.
