Wheels turning for Alabama OL

One of Alabama’s nice sleeper prospects made his first official visit this past weekend.
“I took my official visit to Louisville,” said Russellville offensive tackle John Watts. “It went real goodd. I liked the town and the campus, especially their stadium. That’s a real nice stadium. I liked coach Petrino and his staff. They treated us real well.

“I also like what they do on offense. It’s really similar to what we do at our school. The terminology is just a little different. I think if I went there, I’d fit in pretty good.”
Watts (6-6, 250, 5.2) said he has two other official visits scheduled for the upcoming weekends.
“I’ll be going to South Carolina this weekend,” he said. “And on the 23rd, I’m going to Memphis.”
The Gamecocks are new to his list. “They just called Sunday night when I got back from Louisville and made me an offer. So I set up a visit with them,” Watts said.
“I like Lou Holtz as a coach,” he added. “I think he’d be a great guy to play for. Plus, it’s SEC football. I like the idea of playing in that conference.”
Regarding Memphis, he said he didn’t know as much about the Tigers’ program as the Cardinals and Gameacks, “but I want to go give them a look. You never know. I could wind up liking it a whole lot the way I did at Louisville.”
Watts is keeping the door open for two more visits. He says Auburn remains in contact with him, as well as Central Florida, Mississippi State and Southern Miss.
“You never know if someone’s going to come in on me late like South Carolina did,” he said.
