Wheeler focused on five

Dallas (Texas) Skyline Rivals250 linebacker Anthony Wheeler established an early top five of Oklahoma, Texas, Baylor, Texas A&M, and Alabama. The five schools have been in his lead group for months, with Oklahoma leading the way.
Other schools such as Ole Miss, Michigan, and LSU have been mentioned in the past, but as the season approaches he is focused in on his top five.

"Yeah, I'm pretty much down to them," Wheeler said. "I guess they just showed me love consistently and are the schools I probably talk to the most. I felt comfortable with the coaches whenever I met them in person."
He has been able to visit everyone in his top five with the exception of Alabama, and he most recently visited Oklahoma over the summer.
"I went out to OU. It was pretty good," Wheeler said. "I went out for one of the camps. I got to look around and talk to coach Stoops and I got to spend a lot of time with the linebacker coach Tim Kish. And I got to talk a lot to some of the players and I got to talk a lot to one of the former players Frank Shannon. I spent a lot of time with him."
The Sooners continue to lead the way in Wheeler's recruiting process.
"When I first went down there it was very welcoming," Wheeler said. "I just felt like part of them and part of the family. It felt very comfortable around the players and the coaches were very welcoming."
The school pushing the Sooners the most for Wheeler's services is Texas.
"They were my first offer and they showed me love," Wheeler said. "Even when all the coaches came they were still showing me a lot of love so I'll always have them. I'll keep them on my top list."
Wheeler does not have any official visits scheduled right now, but he does plan to take some during the season.
He is currently ranked No. 221 in the Rivals250, No. 8 among the nation's inside linebackers, and No. 26 Rivals.com Texas Preseason Top 100.
