Whats the latest on Tonga

San Mateo (Calif.) Aragon defensive lineman Matangi Tonga was supposed to visit Oregon this weekend after having to re-schedule his trip the previous week. Once again, Tonga missed the visit and now the question has to be asked- are the Ducks still in it for the talented rush end?

Tonga told us a few weeks ago he was down to two schools- BYU and Oregon. He was supposed to visit Eugene the weekend of the (Jan. 13) but had to re-schedule it for this weekend. When we called the family, Tonga was already asleep but we talked briefly with his cousin who filled us in a bit.

"We had a death in the family, that's why he didn't make it last weekend. I'm not sure why he didn't make the visit this past weekend but he said he still wants to check out Oregon and they still want him to visit as well. I think he's going to try and get out there next weekend and then his plan is to still decide between Oregon and BYU."

We'll try and catch up with Tonga later in the week to see what his plans are and if he still has Oregon on his itinerary.
