Whats Next For Cleodis Floyd

One name that has been popping up on the recruiting scene the past couple of weeks is Compton JC (Calif.) defensive lineman Cleodis Floyd. Floyd, 6-1, 290 pounds visited Colorado last weekend and had a trip set for this weekend but it doesn't sound like that one is going to happen.
"Colorado was great, I really liked it there," Floyd said. "They offered me and another JC tackle and said the first to commit would get the offer and the other guy jumped on it. I talked to coach Barnett just this week though and he said might be able to open up another offer for me so we'll see how that plays out. That's a great place and a beautiful area. it's funny, I saw the talk about how I committed there but that never happened.

"I was supposed to visit UCLA this weekend but I haven't heard from the coaches in awhile. I talked to Coach Embree a few weeks ago and he told me to pick a weekend so I said how about January 16. That's the last I've heard from them. I called him a couple of times since then and no one has gotten back to me. Now it's too late for me to trip anywhere else this weekend.
"Oregon State and Colorado State both want to trip me out and I might have to take a mid week visit to one of them because I'm running out of weekends. Colorado State is looking good right now and I think that might be where I end up. They're losing some DTs so I think I could play early and they also have a good defense. I like Oregon State too. Nigel Burton is over there and he was one of my coaches at Portland State so I'm real close with him. Kansas State is another school that has called and may trip me out if they have an offer available. We'll see what happens, I have some good options right now so I think things will work out for the best."
Floyd signed out of high school with Portland State and then transferred this past year to Compton JC (Calif.). He red-shirted at Portland State so he'll have three years to play three at a Div I school.
