What happened to John West

The coaching staff at North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, N.D., is expecting big things this season from defensive end Bobby Jones and wide receiver David Whitmoyer . The two are headed into their second season of JUCO football, and both are drawing interest from a number of major division I colleges. In fact Jones has scholarship offers from Wisconsin, Michigan State, and South Carolina among others.
Another name to keep in mind at North Dakota State College of Science is perhaps a familiar one to Big Ten recruiting fans.

"John West showed up today," assistant coach Mike Shafer said. "He'll be here for two years, then we'll get him back out there (on the recruiting scene). He will be a free safety for us."
The now 6-foot-3 and 195 pound West, from Oak Creek, was one of the top prospects in the state of Wisconsin last season. He totaled 110 solo tackles, six sacks, 19 knocked down passes, and seven interceptions during his senior season at Oak Creek.
West will graduate from North Dakota State College of Science in December of 2005. He will then have three years to play two seasons of division I college football.
