What does Cox think about Spurrier

Trussville (Ala.) Hewitt Trussville quarterback Brandon Cox was a big Steve Spurrier fan. Now that Spurrier is gone from the Gators, what does Cox think about his recruitment?
"I'm still in shock," Cox said when asked about the situation at Florida. "I just talked to coach Spurrier right before Christmas. He was talking about how excited he was for me to come down on my official visit."

So does Cox have a favorite for the job at Florida?
"I think it would be neat to play for a guy like Bob Stoops," Cox said. "He helped put Oklahoma back on the map and win a national championship right away.
"I also think coach Shanahan would be great, too. He has two Super Bowl rings."
Cox also received another shock when Noel Mazzone, the offensive coordinator at Auburn, was let go.
"I talked to coach Tuberville just two days ago," Cox said.
"He said he's got an offensive coordinator in mind and should announce who it is any day now. He said it's a guy that is familiar working with left-handers, so I'm thinking it's somebody from the Jacksonville Jaguars."
Cox said he did watch LSU in its bowl game and also came away impressed, but he is also concerned about the Tigers depth at quarterback.
"There's just something going on with all of the teams on my list," Cox said. "So it's going to be an interesting few weeks for me."
Sure indeed. Cox is set to visit Auburn on Jan. 11, LSU on Jan. 18 and Florida on Jan. 25.
