Whaley is ready to start the season

The season opens this Friday for three-star running back Kevin Whaley out of Virginia Beach (Va.) Salem. The 5-foot-9, 166-pounder is thrilled in preparation for the season opener.
"I'm just working out with my team trying to get better for our first game against Landstown," he said. "We're working hard and getting better. The coaches are pushing up to get better too.

"I'm a little faster and stronger, but I won't know where I've improved until I start to play games."
On the recruiting front, things are slow for the No. 30 running back in the country.
"Not much is going on really," he stated. "I've got offers from Virginia Tech, Virginia, Marshall, Michigan State, Connecticut, Maryland and some other schools. Nobody really sticks out and I probably will not take visits until later on. I'm just focused on the season trying to get a state championship ring."
