Whaley has OSU on top

Two scholarship offers sit on the table for Madisonville, Texas outside linebacker Alonzo Whaley. A commitment this summer may not be too far away.
Whaley, the 6-foot, 213-pounder, says that with a broken cell phone, he hasn't had a chance to keep in contact with a lot of schools lately. However, he picked up his second offer towards the end of the school year from Louisiana Tech.

The first school that offered, Oklahoma State, currently sit at the top of his list. In fact, a commitment could be in the very near future.
"I'm probably going to go ahead and commit to them after two-a-days," Whaley said about OSU. "The other schools don't know if they want to offer but Oklahoma State, I always hear from them and they know what they want."
Whaley says that he recently attended a UTEP camp, but has yet to receive an offer from the Miners. Nebraska was another school showing interest at one point as well.
"I got to meet the coaches again at the UTEP camp," Whaley said. "They were down earlier to recruit me this spring and they said they were real interested in me. But, they haven't offered yet."
Whaley was a first-team all-state selection at linebacker in 2006.
