Whaley begins to ponder visits

Three-star running back Kevin Whaley out of Virginia Beach (Va.) Salem has been on the verge of taking visits for a few weeks at least. Now that the season is finished, the 5-foot-11, 185-pounder is starting to focus his attention there.
"I'll probably go visits Northern Illinois sometime soon," he said. "I don't know when and I don't really have any other visits set.

"I am talking to Connecticut and Michigan State a lot along with Penn State."
Rumors have floated around recently that Whaley may be favoring Maryland.
"I do like them a lot," he said. "They got great athletes and they are just a great team and school. They have a good work ethic there."
Clearly, Whaley is still taking things relatively slow. What is he looking for in a college?
"I'm looking for a good school, a good education and somewhere that has nice people."
Last weekend, Whaley and Salem were bumped out of the state playoffs by Oscar Smith 17-9.
"This team worked hard and stuck together. It was a tough game," he said. "I did well on the year. I finished around 1,600-yards rushing and 23-touchdowns. I improved a lot. I'm much stronger and faster and working harder. I just have to continue to improve on everything."
