The 6-foot-6, 265-pound prospect had previously visited Connecticut and Purdue.
While in Chapel Hill, Westbrook was hosted on his visit by freshman tight end Ethan Farmer.
"He just told me it is a good school with great athletics and that I should come there," Westbrook said.
He also had a chance to speak with his primary recruiter, Charlie Williams, as well as head coach Butch Davis.
"Coach Davis just told me about the program and the school," Westbrook said. "He just basically told me it is a good program to come to."
Over the next two weekends, the three-star prospect intends to visit two in-state schools officially.
"I am going to South Florida and then Florida," Westbrook said.
According to Westbrook, both schools have extended an official offer.
"South Florida has offered me," Westbrook said. "I am talking with Coach (Vernon) Hargreaves and (Larry) Scott."
"Coach (Will) Muschamp offered me (for Florida)," Westbrook added. "I have spoken to him like five times. He said he liked my size and athleticism and that he thought I would be good for the program."
Heading into his final two official visits, does the South Florida prospect claim a leader?
"Not yet," Westbrook said. "Not until I visit all of them."
In addition to handling his recruitment, Westbrook is also participating in basketball at this time.
