West Virginia on the mind of 2018 Georgia DB Christian Jackson

The Latest: Class of 2018 defensive back Christian Jackson hasn’t been a football player for long, but he’s already caught the eye of several college coaches. The converted basketball player has quickly picked up the game and paired with California commit Tyriq Hardimon and 2018 Rivals100 defensive back Derrik Allen to form one of the best defensive backfields in the state of Georgia. Among Jackson’s early offers is West Virginia and the Mountaineers have already made a pretty good impression. Rivals.com caught up with Jackson to get the latest on his recruitment.

In His Words: “It was really exciting to get that first offer because it wasn’t expected at all. They came and saw me in the spring and didn’t offer me and then I got the news they offered two weeks later so it was a big thing. I call the West Virginia coaches every few weeks to talk. I was supposed to go there for a visit over the summer but I couldn’t make it but I’m definitely going to get up there for a game this fall. I’ve looked at their schedule but I have to see when my parents can get me up there.

Rivals Reaction: Just a year and a half into his football career, Jackson will continue to improve and West Virginia was smart to be the first school to jump on him. Other programs like Iowa State, Vanderbilt and Michigan State have all been in touch and once his film starts to make the rounds Jackson figures to end up with several more schools on his offer list.
