West Virginia gives Adams his first offer

MORE: Prince previews South Carolina visit
While he may have had to wait a little longer than his twin brother Jordan Adams, Jacquez Adams of Reisterstown (Md.) Franklin recently got the news that he had received his first offer. Relieved to have that behind him, Adams will look to hit the road this off-season in search of adding a few more.

"Recruiting has been going great in the last month because my coach and dad told me that since I play a harder position, it would take more time for me," Adams said. "So after the season I finally picked up my first offer from West Virginia.
"I was happy because not only was it my first, but my dad felt less stressed because he wants us to stay close and go to the same college."
Jordan Adams has offers from Virginia Tech and Vanderbilt, but West Virginia is the first school to offer both brothers.
"West Virginia is a great school, but I'm waiting to go to my visit in February," he said. "I want to see if I fit in well with the academics and other people. I want to make sure I make the best choice."
Adams is also claiming early interest from Wake Forest, Michigan State, Maryland, Rutgers, Marshall, Delaware, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Penn State and Connecticut. Adams mentioned that both brothers have also scheduled a visit to Virginia Tech this spring and may camp at Penn State during the summer.
West Virginia is currently recruiting Adams as an athlete, but he is seeing more specific looks from other schools for his abilities at defensive back, slot receiver and quarterback. The interest he is currently getting at quarterback has inspired Adams to try and prove to people that this is actually his future position.
"I want to prove that I can play quarterback," he said. "People overlook me because of my height, so I want to prove a point."
Wherever Adams ends up, he made it very clear that he wants his brother by his side.
"We have to stay together," he said. "Our bond is unbreakable. I can rely on him when things go wrong on the field."
