West Virginia gets commitment

The West Virginia Mountaineers received their first commitment for the 2004 season.
"Dale committed to the Mountaineers this week," said Washington, Pa. head coach Bill Britton of wideout/cornerback Dale Calloway. "Dale wanted to make an early commitment so he could get the process over with and concentrate on next season. He liked West Virginia from the start."

Calloway, a 5-foot-11, 175-pounder, will likely play defensive back for WVU.
"They see him as a shutdown corner I think," said Britton. "He's a hard working kid and the type of player who will get better and better as he goes along. He's a terrific athlete."
Other schools showing interest included Pitt, Marshall, Maryland and Temple.
"This is a good pickup for West Virginia," said coach Britton. "They're getting a really good kid and a good football player."
