West Coast athlete gives the boot

If your college team is in need of a place-kicker this is season to get one. California has plenty of kickers for the class of 2006 and the interesting thing about this year's class of kickers is they play multiple sports in addition to their place-kicking talent.
Another kicker from the Golden State to keep your eye on is Andrew Aguila (6-1, 170, 4.7) from Bellflower (Calif.) Saint John Bosco.

USC, Cal, Arizona, and Arizona State are already showing a lot of interest in Aguila.
Aguila could be one of the most sought after kickers in California once college scouts can come on campus this spring and see him on film. He is definitely a D-I type of talent.
"Andrew has terrific leg strength," Saint John Bosco Coach Kiki Mendoza said. "He kicked a 54-yard field goal and two other field goals that went for over 50 yards."
"Andrew was perfect on extra points, but probably the best thing he does for us is kickoff," Mendoza said. "Most of his kickoffs land in the end zone. I think there may have been two kickoffs that didn't reach the end zone."
"Most kickers kick their field goals off a two-inch block," Mendoza said. "Andrew only uses a quarter-inch block to get himself ready for the next level."
When you play in as tough of a league as Saint John Bosco does then having a talented place-kicker comes in handy.
Aguila, as mentioned, was a perfect 23-23 on extra points. He also added 16 field goals for a total of 71 points.
