West Charlotte DT is getting looks

Charlotte (N.C.) West Charlotte is home to a talented defensive tackle in the 2009 recruiting class. The 6-foot-2, 330-pounder is already fielding interest from numerous schools in the ACC, SEC, Big Ten and Big 12.
"I'm hearing from Duke, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Wisconsin, NC State, North Carolina, ECU, Illinois, Missouri, Northwestern and Virginia," defensive tackle Curtis Porter said. "I'm planning on going to a lot of schools this summer, including Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Missouri, Northwestern and probably Miami."

Porter recently took an unofficial to Duke.
"They essentially offered me," he said. "The only thing they are waiting on is my SAT score. I need to get that up a bit more. I'm pretty close.
"I love Duke. I love how Coach Cutcliffe and his staff are there for the students. They really want to change the program around. I was in Coach Cutcliffe's office and he treated me like royalty."
While Duke certainly impressed, Porter is looking around.
"I'm a big fan of everybody, I'm looking for the best offer," he stated. "First off academics are important in case I don't go to the NFL. I want to go into business administration or economics. I'm also looking for a good coaching staff. There is nothing wrong with them being on my butt. I also have to have a good relationship with the staff. Finally I want a school I can fit into."
