Wesley makes his choice

Atlanta (Ga.) Crim defensive end Quinton Wesley has traveled the long and winding road of recruiting and last night he made his college choice. He kept it quiet until 2 p.m. EST when he phoned Rivals.com to let us in on the secret.
"It's Mississippi State," Wesley said. "After taking all of my official visits I knew Mississippi State was the place for me. I liked Alabama and Kentucky a lot too and they gave me a lot to think about, but the thought of playing for coach Croom was just too strong not to take."

The 6-foot-5, 226-pound Wesley attended the NIKE camp in Atlanta, where he ran the 40-yard dash in 5 seconds, the shuttle in 4.66 seconds and posted a 24-inch vertical jump.
"I just felt like I fit in there better than the other places," Wesley said. "I think that I could go in and contribute early there and that was something that was a big factor. I really developed a good relationship with their coaches throughout the whole process."
Wesley is ranked as the No. 20 weak side defensive end and the No. 37 player in the state of Georgia.
As a junior Wesley collected 49 tackles, six tackles for loss, seven sacks and recovered four fumbles.
