Wells decision coming soon

Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood running back Maurice Wells has finished his official visits with his trip to Georgia Tech this weekend. Over the next few weeks it will be decision time for the standout tailback. Could a decision come sooner?
"Georgia Tech was everything I expected," said the 5-foot-9, 177-pounder. "I've been there a couple times before and I really liked it and my visit was excellent. I had a very good time and I could see myself going there and making an impact like Calvin Johnson did as a freshman."

Wells, who also visited Southern Cal, Maryland and Ohio State, will choose between the Jackets and Buckeyes.
"I told the coaches it was down to those two, so I don't have anyone coming in this week so I can think," he said. "Both schools have positives that the other doesn't have, which makes it tough."
Could he see himself making as big an impact at Ohio State?
"It's a challenge for me because people say I'm too small for the Big Ten," he said. "That inspires me. I think I could go in there and play as a freshman and Ohio State can provide you a good education like Georgia Tech can if you take the right classes."
Wells plans on announcing his decision at the U.S. Army All-American Game on Jan. 15, but if he knows who he's picking, he will call the coaches before then.
"If I decide this week, I'll let the coaches know," he said. "But I gave my word I'd announce at the game and that's what I plan on doing."
