Weldon is a sleeper to watch

Arlington (Va.) Washington & Lee wide receiver Jermaine Weldon is a sleeper in every sense of the word. The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder had a big year as a senior hauling in 43 receptions for 764 yards and eight touchdowns. The season still hasn't quite caught the eye of recruiters as Weldon contemplates where he's going to go from here.
"Right now the only school talking to Jermaine is Norfolk State," Washington & Lee head coach Malcolm Lewis said. "If they come knocking with an offer it'll be interesting to see what happens.

"Up until this season, Jermaine was focusing on basketball, but midway through the year he switched his focus. Before he didn't care about route running and now he realizes he might want to do this at the next level and is really working hard. I think he wants to go to Fork Union or Hargrave to improve his stock."
Lewis went on to talk about his talented wideout.
"He's a tremendous leaper with deceptive speed," he said. "It's almost like he's running in slow motion because you can't tell how fast he is until he pulls away from you. He's got a very big frame and is lanky with terrific hands.
"He's the type of kid that has a lot of upside. He never tried to be technically perfect before, but now that means a lot to him. I've seen Josh Hyman (Virginia Tech) and Brandon Myles (West Virginia) make it to Division I and I know Jermaine can do it too."
