Weekly finds a home in Big 12

One of the nation’s top junior college defensive players that have yet to find a home, has found a home. Yuma (Ariz.) Arizona Western Junior College strongside defensive end Monroe Weekly is heading to the Big 12.
“I’m going to sign with Kansas tomorrow,” said Weekly, a four-star prospect that originally signed with Pittsburgh out of high school before transferring to Dodge City Community College and then to Arizona Western.

Weekly, who is 6-foot-3, 260 pounds and originally from Aliquippa, Pa., said it was a Pennsylvania connection with coach Mark Mangino that helped him feel comfortable with Lawrence.
“Coach Mangino is from Newcastle, so we have the Aliquippa-Newcastle rivalry going on,” Weekly, who goes by the nickname Mo-Mo, said.
“I had a good relationship built upon that and once I took a look at the Big 12 style of play, I really feel like I could fit in there.”
