Wedderburn still working on officials

It's been nearly two months since Rivals last heard from three-star tight end Mark Wedderburn out of Springfield (Pa.) Cardinal O'Hara. The 6-foot-6, 235-pounder is in the process of scheduling official visits.
"I haven't set dates for my officials yet, but I definitely plan to go the third week of December to Florida or Tennessee," he said. "After that, I plan to see the other school and go visit Rutgers, Penn State and Louisville. I'm basically down to those five."

Wedderburn discussed why those schools stick out over the rest.
"I feel like these are the best situation for me," he said. "Playing wise and school wise they are good. Obviously I like the big universities with a lot of people and also the big college atmosphere. That is why I chose these in particular."
The No. 18 tight end in the country maintains that Penn State is still his leader.
"I have a good connection with the coaches there," he said. "I went up this past summer and got a good vibe and they know my family and brother. I know if I went there they'll take care of me."
While officials are still a month away, Wedderburn did take an unofficial for the Rutgers-Maryland game.
"That was a good visit even though they lost," he said. "They are still in my top five and they turned around and beat the No. 2 team in the country, South Florida. I was impressed with that. I liked the atmosphere at Rutgers."
Wedderburn has played well for Cardinal O'Hara this season as a defensive end and tight end.
"I've been doing well at tight end," he said. "They've been getting me the ball. I have about 250-yards receiving and a touchdown. On defense, I'm getting stronger every week. I have about 32 tackles and seven sacks.
"I have seen an improvement. I'm understand schemes more and blocking better. I feel like I know more plays and understand things a lot better."
