Weber attends national title celebration

Ohio State running back commit Mike Weber attended the Buckeye's National Championship celebration in Columbus this weekend, then stayed to spend time with recruits on campus.
"Seeing all the players celebrate, it was real cool," Weber said. "It made me excited because it was something I wanted to be a part of on-stage."

Weber made the trip to Columbus with teammates Joshua Alabi, a fellow Ohio State commit in the 2015 class, junior safety Demetric Vance and sophomore wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones.
"I was there for a couple of days," Weber said. "I had a little time with (Urban) Meyer and hung with Coach (Stan) Drayton a little bit.
"(K.J.) Hill was there for an official and I played with him on the West Army Bowl team. I think he said he had a couple more visits, but he said he enjoyed himself so we'll see. I was with him, all my teammates, Damon Webb and Curtis Samuel."
Weber played with Webb at Cass Tech until the 2013 season, and are close friends. Having him already in Columbus helped Weber acclimate to the people, program and campus.
"It helped a lot because he told me what to look for coming in," Weber said. "He calls me, lets me know what is going on and it is kind of cool to have someone close there."
One of the catalysts for Ohio State national title was sophomore running back Ezekiel Elliott. Due to a similar build and running style, the comparisons between Elliott and Weber have been made and the two are becoming familiar with one another.
"I have had a chance to get to know him and have his number," Weber said. "We'll talk on the phone for a minute and he's a cool guy. He's someone I want to be as far as his success."
Weber initially committed to Michigan back in the summer, but stepped away from that commitment in November and pledged to Ohio State a few weeks later.
With Jim Harbaugh taking over in Ann Arbor, Weber has been asked repeatedly whether he will reconsider the Wolverines. He and his father have decided not to discuss that at this time, but Weber said he does not know of any visits scheduled with coaches this week and does not expect to make any more visits before National Signing Day.
Following a U.S. Army All-American Bowl performance in which he led all rushers with 51 yards, the 5-foot-10, 205-pound Weber's national ranking increased to No. 59 in the final class of 2015 Rivals100 presented by Under Armour.
