Weaver makes a surprise decision

Defensive tackle Thomas Weaver out of Irvington, N.J. has made a decision. The 6-foot-2, 265-pounder accepted an offer from Villanova over scholarships from Connecticut, Kansas State and New Mexico State earlier this week.
"I committed to Villanova on Monday," he said. "In the end, I liked it there. I felt comfortable and it just seemed like the right fit for me."

What did the two-star prospect like about the Wildcats?
"The coaches there have really good relationships with the players," he said. "I also like that they are a good football program and then they have a good location. That was everything I was looking for in a college."
As far as playing time, Weaver will be given a shot immediately.
"The coaches have told me I'll have a good chance to play right when I arrive on campus at defensive tackle. I can't ask for anything better than that."
