Weaver favors two

Irvington, N.J. offensive center Thomas Weaver is favoring two schools. The 6-foot-2, 265-pounder is hoping they'll both offer. What makes those two programs stand out to the two-star prospect?
"I'm definitely favoring Maryland and Rutgers and I think there is a good possibility that they'll offer," he stated. "I like them because they are very close to home and play good football. I've talked to the coaches from both places and they seem very interested in me."

At this time, Weaver holds offers from Connecticut, Kansas State and New Mexico State.
"I don't think any of them lead right now, but I've got to look more into them," he said. "Basically, I'm looking for a good academic program and a solid football team. I also want somewhere that lets the best players play."
Weaver is focusing most of his attention right now on the upcoming season.
"I'm just practicing, studying film and doing weights," he said. "I think I'm getting a lot quicker and I'm in much better shape. I still want to work on improving my stamina so that I can play all four quarters and never come out of the game. I'm focused on helping our team to be state champions and then after the season I'll worry about recruiting."
Weaver earned all-conference, area and county after registering 48 tackles, nine for loss and five sacks last season.
