Watts re-opens his recruitment

Chicago (Ill.) Phillips three-star defensive tackle Amir Watts surprised many when he committed to Western Michigan over several Power Five offers back in April. The interest from Power Five schools has not abated, and on Friday Watts announced that he was de-committing from the Broncos to consider other schools.

Much Appreciation to Western Michigan, but at this time I have decided to reopen my Recruitment!- Mr.Watts (@AmirWatts345) August 21, 2015
IN HIS WORDS: "Western Michigan is not a bad place to go at all. I didn't commit there for nothing, but I feel like I haven't done enough evaluating."
WHAT'S NEXT: Watts is in currently in the process of setting official visits and listed Tennessee, Rutgers, Kansas, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Minnesota as some of the schools he is looking closest at. Of that group, Tennessee and Minnesota are the only ones that have yet to offer.
RIVALS' REACTION: The defensive tackle position is a hot commodity, especially this late in the process. The 6-foot-3, 260-pound Watts has shown the ability to play at the highest levels of college football and we could see several more suitors enter the mix now that he has re-opened his process. At this point it looks like Pittsburgh, Rutgers and Tennessee have the best chances of landing official visits from the class of 2016's No. 37 ranked defensive tackle prospect.
