Watson planning weekend trip

Tre Watson has had more contact with the Cal coaching staff recently and the three-star running back commit is hoping to visit Berkeley this weekend.
"Cal has been in touch with me more now and I'm working on taking an unofficial to Cal on Friday," Watson said. "My mom and I are trying to figure out the (hotel room) situation so we'll see what happens.

"They're pretty booked up because of the incoming freshmen. We'll see if it works out. We're trying to find a reasonable price and see what happens."
UCLA has been much more involved with the Corona (Calif.) Centennial running back recently but Watson said the Cal coaches have also stepped it up.
Watson, who looked good numerous times this summer, said he's talking more with Cal and not only a few of the coaches.
"They're showing me love," Watson said. "We've been more interactive and talking more. I'm talking to more of the coaches, not just coach (Pierre) Ingram and coach (Sonny) Dykes. I'm talking to everybody so it's good.
"I've already been up there and saw it all so it's more for my mom this time. I want her to see it all and see if she loves it like I do."
The Bruins have made some more in-roads with Watson but he's unsure of their interest because he's only talking with one UCLA coach. Still, the Bruins are being considered but Watson said his commitment to Cal remains firm.
"Coach (Steve) Broussard stays active with me," Watson said of UCLA. "That's honestly the only coach that talks to me from there so I don't know.
"I don't feel the love coming from them if he's the only one. At the end of the day that's what really matters though because he'd be my running backs coach."
