Watkins thinks about a pledge

Drew Miller has already committed to Florida and there were reports that he was joined by fellow offensive line recruit Jim Tartt. So did Lake Gibson, Fla., offensive tackle Jason Watkins join both of them?
“I was tempted, especially when Drew and Tartt committed,” Watkins, who is 6-foot-9 and 300 pounds, said. “I didn’t commit, but this was the best one I’ve seen yet. I liked Oklahoma a lot before this, but Florida was the best visit I’ve taken.”

Why do the Gators now lead?
“They make you feel at home,” he said. “They’re all very friendly people, and then it all of a sudden hits you. You’re there in the Swamp and talking to all these people that play for Florida, and they all want to talk to you.”
It also didn’t hurt that people on campus spent time talking to Watkins.
“It wasn’t just the regular girls that show you around,” Watkins said. “But people were coming up to you while you’re walking around campus and telling you about how great it is to go there. There were also some of the best looking women that I’ve ever seen. Even the regular girls were great and really nice, too.”
Watkins said he’s scheduled to visit LSU next weekend and he’s not sure what to expect.
“I’m just going to go down there and look around with an open mind,” Watkins said. “I’m also going to have in-home visits this week from coach Zook, coach Saban and coach Stoops. It’s going to be a busy week, and they’re all going to lining up outside the door. It’s going to be fun.”
