Watkins still has top two

The nation’s No. 1 safety, Pat Watkins of Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln, has been quite busy this month talking to college coaches across the country and taking a few unofficial visits in and out of the state of Florida.
“I’ve been to a Florida and a Florida State game this month,” Watkins said. “I really liked the crazy atmosphere at Florida, their fans looked like they were having a good time. I’ve also been up to UGA a few times since this summer. That’s a cool place, too.”

Watkins says that his next unofficial visit will probably be to an Alabama game.
Watkins has been talking with many other schools including USC, Georgia, Florida State and Miami. He listed Georgia and Miami as his top two teams last interview, and it looks like the Dawgs and the Canes still are battling it out for the top spot.
“They’re up there, but I’m keeping my options open, too,” Watkins said. “I plan to at least take visits to USC, UGA and Miami. After that I don’t know.”
